EACB is originated from CEPEX (Chinese Energy Professionals Exchange). CEPEX was a communication platform to facilitate the sharing of energy industry knowledge and experience for energy professionals in London, it was created by Mr Sam Wu (Previously worked at Mitsui and Gazprom and Mr Han Su worked at British Petroleum in 2010).

In order to to further strengthen the missions of CEPEX, Sam founded British Chinese Energy Association (BECA)  in 2013 and formed a Executive Committee team ( which was developed from CEPEX) to operate BCEA. BCEA had organized various energy networking and educational seminar events sponsored by reputable companies in energy industry since 2013 with, our speakers and attendees were from major energy companies.

From 2021, BCEA has changed its' name to EACB under the new leadership and management structure for the purpose of evolving the association to meet the new demands and challenges impacted by Covid19. EACB has inherited the commitments and missions of BCEA and CEPEX with a new management structure and ambitions to further offer assistances to its’ members in the China-UK and China-European, also providing a new resource sharing platform to strengthen the disciplinary and interdisciplinary communications, and to further serve energy industry with aims to promote the exchange of science, academic, technology, finance and government of China-UK and China-EU in energy fields.

Our mission:

The mission of EACB is to promote and strengthen EU and China collaboration in Energy industry by facilitating high impact energy related collaborative initiatives and projects between EU and China and serving as a platform for the integration of policy, business, investment, and R&D projects for the two continents. The EABC has several main Task Forces such as Smart Grid, Green energy Building and Eco-City, Renewable Energy, and Green finance & Investment. Each task force is co-lead by the top business leaders and senior experts in this field in both EU & China. The EACB also has the advisory board in UK, which consists of Chinese Academicians, business leaders, University professors, former ministers.

The EACB members come from various sectors in UK, other European countries and China, including the world’s top 500 companies, new energy innovation companies, well-known universities and research institutions, as well as energy-related legal tax and financial investment companies and other related industries.

Our Goal:

EU and China share common interests and goals for the energy transition, and are jointly responsible for one third of the world's final energy consumption. Our vision is to strengthen the exchange of energy research and development, and create opportunities for political and policy exchange as well as new business prospects for innovative companies in energy industry to advance a more sustainable future for both the China and the EU.

Through event series, conferences, and special projects, EACB brings together industry professionals, experts, scholars and business elites in all fields in energy, environment, finance, technology and transportation to promote the common development and progress of the industry in the future through cross-border collaborations.
